Friendly Fernley, Nevada Fernley, Nevada is located 28 miles west of Fallon. Fernley is a rural community with big city amenities all within a 1/2 drive from Fallon. Fernley is set in the foothills of the Virginia Mountain Range. Because of this, the town has wonderful views of the mountains. Within a short drive you can hike, camp, and visit two water recreational areas: Lake Lahontan and Pyramid Lake. Fernley is in the middle of one of the fastest growing areas in the country. It has approximately 20,000 people living there. The fast growth is due to its proximity to Reno, NV with its family lifestyle, career opportunities, reasonable priced housing, business amenities, and good climate. Just recently, the Forbes-Millkin Institute ranked the Reno area 22nd in the nation’s best place for business and careers. Fernley is a major contribution to this recognition. Fernley is home to the Nevada Industrial Park that has 5,000 acres located along Interstate 80 and is just 14 miles east of the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, which has 30,000 acres. Places to visit are Fort Churchill, Buckland Station, ATV Raceway, Reno/Fernley Raceway, and their 18 hole golf course.
