Historic Round Mountain, Nevada

Located in the center of Nevada, it is a high mountain desert with settlements scattered along State Route 376 which runs a l00 mile length of the valley.

Population of the valley is approximately 2,500 people with most of the population living in Round Mountain and the Hadley Subdivision.

The main industry is mining with Round Mountain Gold employing approximately 750 people.  Other industries are agriculture with alfafa farms and ranching.  Many ranches date back to homesteads of the 1800s.

Round Mountain is a historic and present day mining town.  Gold was discovered in the early 1900′s.  Mining has benefitted the townsfolk with Round Mountain Gold developing the community of Hadley for its workers.  The community has a post office, community center, library, police sub-station, schools, swimming pool, athletic facilities, a golf course as well as several churches and local businesses.  The town has no large discount stores or fast food joints, but gets along fine without them. 

Nearby recreation is:  The Alta Toquima Wilderness Area, Table Mountain Wilderness Area, ARC Dome Wilderness Area, historic town of Belmont, numerous camp grounds and recreational areas, prime hunting for deer, elk, mountain sheep and wild fowl.  There are many excellent mountain stream fishing locations.
